The Wonders of Egypt

When you think of Egypt you think of the Pyramids of Giza! When I was younger my main idea of these wonderful monuments was my experience from Stargate SG1. After doing more research I became more aware of just how magnificent they are!

You get so excited seeing other travellers’ reactions, you start to question what your own reaction will be. Will I cry, will I be speechless or will I be disappointed. I mean after all the hype you would have high expectations as well.

It was an early wake up for the big day to drive to see the thing you go to Egypt for! As we drove, I saw a mix of everything from water to grass and then sand!! Then I could slowly see us coming closer and closer, we visited the First Pyramid, Dojposer. Constructed 4,700 years ago, it was amazing to see it still standing. If you think of the current average life span being 72, that is 65 generations of people this wonder has been standing for. It has seen war, and celebration and humanities worst and best moments. From this pyramid you can see the Great Pyramids of Giza which is incredible!!

Then we went to a special viewpoint so we could make our Instagram 'cool' as they would say! The view was magnificent! Seeing all three together was like a movie. After taking our wonderful photos it was time to get up close!

Once we got up close we had the opportunity to go into one of the pyramids!! How can you pass up that incredible experience! If not for the experience just to say not only did I go and see the Giza Pyramids but I went inside one!!

As we made our way down into the pyramid we were hitting our heads every few steps and then all of a sudden we were in this room that was small but also felt huge due to the height of the ceiling!

We then made our way to the Great Sphinx of Giza it measures 73 m long from paw to tail, 20 m high from the base to the top of the head and 19 m wide. I of course had to get a kissing photo with it!!

If you walk a little bit up from the Sphinx there is another amazing shot of all 4 monuments!! You can even see this photo in one of Topdeck's brochures!!

It was truly an incredible day!! I cannot believe I got to see these monuments in real life!!

From Posing with camels to looking up in ore this day was incredible! I can't wait to go back and do it all over again with the new and gigantic Grand Egyptian Museum. I’m sure this museum will show the history of Egypt brilliantly! Just look at a picture of it!!
